Over the holiday, I will be moving to Bangkok, Thailand. My mom and her friends and the teachers say it's a great place. I'm so excited! I will be close to school and guess what? I can get a pet! I choose a cat, but one of my brothers wants a dog and my other brother wants a guinea pig. I would like a cat because they don't run away and you can pick them up easily. But when dogs are fully grown, they can't be picked up easily. Another thing bout cats is that they are cuter than dogs. But the most exciting part about moving is that the neighborhoods, the food, the cleanliness, and the shops are a lot better than here. I'm moving on January 3rd 2012.

I'm going to play with my friends and spend time with my family. Maybe read or go outside and play games and play board games or relax.

Over winter break I am going to my grandma's house and she is going to throw a party. Also, I am hoping to go to the movies.

In Mr. Bovone's class:
Seven grandparents are visiting here from:
- Hungary
- Los Angeles
- Mexico
- Sacramento and San Francisco
- Redwood City x 2
- Oregon
- Reno, NV
I will go to Sao Paulo, Brazil because that is where I'm from. I will see my two calopsitas (birds). I will also eat pao de cajo. That's Portuguese for cheese bread and it tastes really good! I can get free eggs because my aunt has 4 hens and 1 rooster. She had 2, but they kept fighting so she gave 1 to my grandma's sister (or friend, I don't remember) At her house, she has over 2 dogs. She also has a swimming pool. When we are not in the pool, we can pick fresh mangoes, peel them, and eat them. On every Christmas Eve, we stay up until 12:00 (midnight) and try to find Santa. Inside the house, there are stairs, a TV, a large table where everyone can sit to eat, a big kitchen and lots of rooms. Oh, I almost forgot! My grandma said that she would get my sister and I each a hamster. I really hope that all of you, or maybe one of you, will go to Brazil.

I am going to Clearlake and celebrating Christmas there. I love Christmas and I can't wait to see my families faces when they see the gift I got for them. Reading and drinking hot coco in front of the fires also what I'm doing.

Over winter break, I plan to decorate my Christmas tree with ornaments. I will also make and eat the gingerbread men that my mother bought. My family will be very busy. I have my mother, me, my brother, my dad, my dog Rontu, my fish, Shark, and my brother's fish Midnight. I will do a lot of things over Christmas break, but most of all I will probably plan on my Wii and watch TV. I might play with the new toys I will get, or eat a lot. What did you ask for on your list? Do you even make Christmas lists? We do. I asked for Wii games, robotic bugs, and Pokemon cards. Please write back.

On my holiday I'm going to go to Utah. In Utah, I'm going to stay in a hotel for a night (I think). Then I think I will drive down to Vernal the next day. Vernal is a small city where part of my family lives. Vernal is found in part of the countryside. Plus, on the way to Vernal, I might stop by Arby's to get some shakes and sandwiches! We don't have that in Baku. Once I get to Vernal, I might stay in my Gran and Pa's house for a day or two. Then, my family will leave for Disneyland, in California. On our drive to Disneyland, I will visit one of my best friends and stay a night in Las Vegas. In Disneyland, I will ride on roller coasters, buy stuffed animals, and much, much more!

Giving students from Fammatre and TISA an opportunity to learn more about each other, experience different cultures and gain a better understanding of the world around them.
Welcome Fammatre and TISA students.
The purpose of the blog will be to offer opportunities for Fammatre and TISA students to learn about each other through common questions that will be asked and answered each month on the blog. By comparing the responses, students will be able to identify the differences and similarities between their school, community and country.
Let's start by introducing our schools to each other.
TISA stands for The International School of Azerbaijan. It is located in Baku. Azerbaijan is situated on the western shores of the Caspian Sea and is bordered by Georgia and Armenia to the west, Russia to the north and Iran to the south. Baku, the capital city, is situated on the Absheron Peninsula and has 2 million inhabitants. TISA has about 500 students who range in age from 2 to 18.
Miss Withers teaches fourth grade at TISA. She has 13 students in her class that come from a variety of countries.
Fammatre Charter Elementary School is in the Cambrian School District in California. It is located in San Jose which is about one hour South of San Francisco and five hours North of Los Angeles. They often call San Jose the "heart" of Silicon Valley. Fammatre has over 500 students that attend Kindergarten through Fifth grade.
